Hello and welcome to the Friends of the Jewish Museum of Vienna!

We are a registered US 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to raising funds for the museum.

Founded in 1988, the museum’s mission is to showcase Jewish history, religion, and culture. It explores Judaism’s role in society across time – stretching from the Middle Ages to the current day. It also preserves and interprets one of the largest European Judaica collections.

The museum serves an essential role not only in sharing Jewish history with the wider world but also in exploring and uncovering new stories of the Jewish people.

Our organization is devoted to supporting the museum’s vital mission. And the museum needs more support than ever before.

The museum faces unprecedented economic challenges. Electricity costs have surged by 300%, gas prices have risen by 50%, and we’re witnessing the steepest labor cost increase in years.

The museum is tirelessly working to adapt to these challenges, but now, more than ever, it needs your support.

By helping the museum, we honor the nearly 50,000 Jewish lives that were forced to flee Vienna between 1938 and 1941.

On a personal note – my father was a survivor. I’m passionate about this cause, and I humbly ask you to help us support the museum.

97% of every dollar you donate goes directly to Vienna to support ongoing and future exhibitions.

Please consider making a donation today.

Thank you.

Expo Window: There be Dragons

Photographic work: Lisl PongerText: Daniela Pscheiden Unexplored areas on medieval maps were shown to be populated with dragons, leviathans, and sea monsters.
